Near the Finish Line

Alright, a quick update for my Nano novel. I am, so ar, at 43.4k words and I have a good ~400 not added. I believe I can squeeze out another 5k worth to finish up the story without much trouble. Then I have an idea for a different chapter 1 or prologue and a potential epilogue as well. I have an ending that may be enough to start going to another story as well.

This makes me happy as I started this novel on November 1st without an outline, character sheets, or anything. Of course, this story needs to be tweaked and revised (potentially two or three times) before I start on any additional stories in the world.

On a similar note, I will probably be buying Scrivner once I win NaNoWriMo to help with figuring this story out. This and figuring out character arcs and the like would go a long way. I feel kind of funny writing the story first and then outlining. It may not be the conventional method but at least I will have finished a story.

Here is today's Daily Writing.

Yesterday our prompt was an object so today is a sentient body. Write about a body moving through time (normally or maybe not...) and the glorious details that make up the body. I am fine with the details becoming graphic so long as you post a NSFW ahead of your work.

The living thing can be real or a figment of your imagination so long as there is the writing can describe the being as sentient. So use your imagination or take a stock photo and let your fingers fly with interpretation. Just write it down and let your fingers do the talking.

Now get to it!

These Daily Writings have piqued my interest on occasion and the thought of writing on these ideas is dangerous being so close to the finish line. I must resist the urge. Must. Resist.

Alright. Back to the grind.
